10 Interesting things to enjoy the time while in quarantine


We all know the current situation which is being faced by the world, the Coronavirus pandemic. Due to this, almost the whole world is in lock-down. So, the first thing that comes to our mind is how to spend such long days at home? Is there any way to enjoy our quality time besides Netflix and social media?

The answer is yes! Here, I am sharing some simple things which are even followed by me nowadays and would like to share with the world to make these days relaxing and enjoying.

 

1. Gratitude

Yes!  you read it correctly. start your day with gratitude, not in the feeling of laziness. We are fortunate that we are safe in our homes and mostly with our families. Their lots of people are struggling with life, food. The benefit of gratitude is endless, it not only enhances our positive emotions and mood but also lightens body ache anxiety.

 

2. Finish book readings, write your heart, Draw your mind

The most awaited task for many of us because we had no time. This is the best time to finish your favorite book. You can use apps for book reading if don’t like reading then use audio-books.

And of course, write. Write a poem, start a blog, or the book you wanted to write. Finish your journals.

In addition do sketching, painting. It is the most relaxing and productive thing to do. You can even color book yes, it’s not just for kids. Just go for any you like or try all. 

 

    3. Meditate 

As people become more anxious in-home quarantine, a mindful meditation alleviates our stress, anxiety depression, and insomnia. Start with simple- find any positive place in your home. Sit down, relax, and focus on your breathing. I know it’s hard and mind goes in million directions but it’s a process so keep trying. Meditation will give you a lot of peace and happiness. You can use apps for the music of nature like air or raindrops which is there in the Zen meditation technique.

 

    4. Do some activity

Being at home makes us cozy and a little lazy. But staying physically active is important. WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, or a combination of both. These recommendations can still be achieved even at home, with no special equipment and limited space.

So, try stretching, breathing exercises, Yoga like SuryaNamskara which is simple. Try online classes or workout apps. Currently, our Instagram is getting flooded with workout videos of celebrities, try some of those.

 

    5. Try Gardening

Nurture nature. The best way to spend an evening is by doing gardening. If you live in apartments and you have planted some plants, it’s the best time to nurture them. Even if you don’t have you can plant the seeds herbs, sunflower seeds, turnip, and even peas.

 

    6. Learn new

Utilize this given precious time and fulfill your hobbies. Learn new languages, take help from apps like Memrise, Duolingo. Learn music, musical instruments or even you can practice dance at your home.

 

          7. Time for yourself

The basic thing which we often forget is time for self-care, especially working women who have to rush each day to manage work and family. It is okay to start your day slow. Take long relaxing baths, take care of your skin and hair. It will revitalize your positivity.

 

    8. Time for your love ones

Time is the best gift you can give to anyone and now you have an ample amount of time. Connect with your family, play games with them. Clean your house and make it beautiful. Also call your friends, relatives, do video calls. Don’t just discuss the current situation continuously, skip news alerts checking for half of the day or some hours. Your mind must also consume some positive data, not just fear and anxiety.

 

         9. Movies and Web series

How can we skip this point? Create a list of movies you wanted to watch. Do web series marathon, finish it from season one to last.

 

     10. Finally, Food

We all have one little chef in us, give him a chance. Try new recipes, cook for yourself and your loved ones.

 

You can try all of these ideas which I am sharing and doing by myself. And you can always improvise it better and better. What is most important is Stay Home and Stay Safe. Try to keep your home clean and mind positive. Stay back from all negativity and keep the big picture in mind.

We can write letters.. letter to long distant friend or to any close person to whom who haven’t shared your ‘dil ki baat’ . Also you can always write a letter to yourself. 😊
